The PhD field PHARMACEUTICS is part of the Doctoral School of Biological and Biomedical Sciences of IOSUD, University of Oradea - a higher education institution accredited to organize doctoral studies in 18 doctoral fields, organized in 7 Doctoral Schools, both in the full-time and part-time forms.
The PHARMACEUTICAL PhD field arose from the need to discover, facilitate and disseminate knowledge and research, to support and promote performance in drug research, in all areas that consider the contribution of sound pharmaceutical knowledge (optimization of pharmaceutical formulations with therapeutic potential, plants with therapeutic potential, methods of investigating active substances usable in various therapies, preclinical/clinical studies involving drug treatment, pharmacological, biochemical, biological, toxicological studies, etc.).
At the same time, one of the aims of the PHARMACEUTICAL PhD field is to contribute to the training of new generations of researchers with high quality standards, first through the selection of potential PhD candidates, then through teaching activities, seminars, evaluation, scientific research. For the training of PhD students/researchers, the PHARMACEUTICAL PhD field has gathered a team of skilled PhD supervisors (so far 6 in number), good professionals, with initiative, academic integrity and good communication skills, and obviously with a relevant international visibility.
The PHARMACEUTICAL PhD has a curriculum that is continuously updated, harmonized and in line with those of other universities in the country and abroad. The doctoral programme comprises a 12-month advanced undergraduate training programme and a 36-month individual scientific research programme (totalling 4 years).
In the preparation of doctoral students, the aim is to carry out advanced training activities in scientific research methodology (from ethics to the technical aspects of statistical and computerised data processing and interpretation), as well as in other disciplines related to the field and speciality of Pharmacy.
In order to increase the quality and the national and international visibility of the research, of the PharmD field and, implicitly, of the University of Oradea, partnerships have been created with doctoral schools abroad (Hungary, France), but also with Romanian academic institutions (University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila", Bucharest). Further partnerships with other doctoral schools in prestigious universities in Romania and abroad are planned.
The research environment offers PhD students opportunities for personal development, but also specialisation through the formation of research groups/teams, participation in ongoing projects, support for publication in specialised journals, increased visibility through communication sessions and scientific conferences.
The University of Oradea also annually has the use of research funds and grants scholarships to doctoral students, based on criteria established by its own methodologies, so that they can be stimulated in their research activity and have the necessary facilities for the results of their research to be published in journals/journals with the best possible rating.
